OUR MEDIA CENTER
The Lake Stevens Elementary Media Center is a beautiful facility that serves as the hub of the school. Students, faculty, parents and community members utilize materials and equipment for reference and information purposes.
MEDIA CENTER MISSION STATEMENT: The media center provides access to information and ideas for all users. It affords opportunities for students to appreciate literature, to become critical seekers of information, and to use educational technology effectively so that may become independent life long learners and decision makers.
Closed Circuit Television Studio - “WLSE Home of the Thunderbirds”, Lake Stevens Elementary School’s live morning broadcast program.
The media center houses computer catalog called "Destiny" that is available to students and staff before, during and after school.
Students and staff can access the Internet, Destiny and various CD ROM products as well as The Accelerated Reader Program.
Hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
GOALS: Will produce literate students by developing a Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) Library Literacy Skills Instruction Program.
OBJECTIVES: To develop an instructional program for the use of the media center resources effectively in the curriculum throughout the school year.
To encourage and motivate students and teachers to utilize the resources available to them.
DESTINY CATALOG: Anytime, anywhere! Access is yours 24 hours a day 7 days a week! This catalog will allow you to search for items in our library and on the Internet.
